Abstract:
I will start by providing a numerical example and a graphical illustration of how standard economic consumer and producer theory can be used to quantify the positive and normative implications associated with inefficient pricing in insurance markets with adverse selection. I will also discuss briefly how this welfare loss can be estimated empirically.
