Fields-CQAM Interdisciplinary Thematic Program

The Fields-CQAM Interdisciplinary Thematic Program aims to bring together industry and academia to work on problems found in a wide range of disciplines including Advanced Manufacturing Processes, Anomalous Event Prediction, Finance and Risk, Health Analytics and Modeling, and Infectious Disease Modelling. 50 Years of Complexity Theory: A Celebration of the Work of Stephen Cook. (May 6-9, 2019)

This symposium celebrates 50 years of Complexity Theory and the outstanding achievements of Stephen Cook and his remarkable influence on the field of computing. Financial support to attend is available, see event for details.

2019 Keyfitz Lecture: Mathematics for Survival with Ivar Ekeland (April 3, 2019)

Can we use mathematical models to predict the future of mankind?How do we factor in human behavior? These questions are particularly urgent today, as the planet faces climate change. Ivar Ekeland will try to describe how mathematical models work, how far into the future they can look, to what extent they can anticipate human behaviour, and what the likely outcomes of the present crisis are.
