Workshop on Hamiltonian Geometry and Quantization
Description
Symplectic geometry originated in classical mechanics, and subsequently evolved into a mathematical abstraction thereof. This field currently plays indispensable roles in pure and applied mathematics, mathematical physics, and engineering. This workshop will showcase some of the modern advancements in symplectic geometry, with a pronounced emphasis on the following themes .
- Symplectic quotients and related constructions
- Classification problems in equivariant symplectic geometry and topology
- Geometric quantization
This workshop will reflect and celebrate the careers of Lisa Jeffrey, Yael Karshon, and Jonathan Weitsman on the occasion of their 60th birthdays.
