Fields Institute COVID-19 Updates
Information for the Fields Institute Community

February 12, 2021: The Fields Institute is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most activities of the institute will continue online until further notice.
We are actively monitoring University of Toronto, Toronto Public Health, Public Health Ontario, and Government of Canada guidance and instructions and are altering our operations accordingly.
Any person who has been exposed to COVID-19 or who is exhibiting symptoms that could be COVID-19 should self-isolate and refrain from visiting the Institute.
When will the Fields Institute reopen?
The Fields Institute is closely following public health developments and directives and does not have a reopening date in mind yet. Once we do have a target date for opening, we will post that information here. Events at the institute will initially be limited to 25 participants. When Fields reopens, we expect participants will have to wear a face mask that covers their nose, mouth, and chin while in public spaces of the building, and adhere to social distancing and screening protocols which will be posted on this page and around the building.
Visitors
Select Thematic & Focus Program postdoctoral fellows, long-term visitors, and organizers may be given access to the building and offices. Access will be granted by appointment only - please contact Bryan Eelhart, Manager of Scientific Programs.
Please be aware that the Government of Canada has enacted travel restrictions and a 14-day mandatory quarantine period into law for all international travellers. Please contact the Fields staff member assigned to your program before arranging travel to the institute.
