The Cyber Connexion Program is designed to help graduates with quantitative degrees and professionals with advanced computing work experience quickly transition into in-demand cybersecurity roles. The curriculum is evaluated by industry experts and updated every 2-3 months to ensure that our participants are prepared to deal with today’s biggest cybersecurity challenges. We connect our participants with fast-growing companies in need of industry-ready cybersecurity talent!

About the Cybersecurity Training Program

Advanced Training

Our program is designed for participants with strong quantitative backgrounds and prepares them for security roles, including: Cybersecurity Analyst, Cybersecurity Consultant, Security Developer and Security Engineer.

Industry-Led & Updated Curriculum

Cyber Connexion and The Fields Institute work with an advisory board of top cybersecurity leaders from organizations like KPMG, Scotiabank, WiCys and the University of Toronto to build a training curriculum that prepares participants to fill the most in-demand roles.

Job-Search Support

Participants will work with coaches and industry mentors to update their resumes and prepare for job interviews. Our program is designed to help you navigate the job market and introduce you to employers and cybersecurity leaders along the way.

Employer Partners

Employers are a big part of our program. All participants will work on an employer-led project with the support of a cybersecurity professional, attend lectures from industry experts, and participate in employer networking events. This allows participants to build relationships with companies and cybersecurity leaders.

Oct 10 - Feb 3, 2023 | Online synchronous part-time classes | Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 6PM - 9PM and Saturdays 9:30AM - 3:30PM

Sessions include: intensive virtual instruction,cybersecurity labs, guest speaker sessions and soft skills training.
Session topics include: Cybersecurity Fundamentals; Computer Networks; Risk Management; Privacy Laws and Ethics; Cryptography Theory and Practice; Identity and Privileged Access Management (IAM & PAM); Defensive Security; Offensive Security.

Are you eligible?

Program participants should be prepared to demonstrate the following:

The ability to participate in all scheduled classes and activities and commit to learning the material
Strong quantitative and/or computing background (an advanced degree is a plus)
A passion for computers
Good communication skills (listening, respectfulness, tolerance)
An interest in transitioning to a career in cybersecurity
Coding experience or a willingness to learn
An ability to quickly develop new skills
A current resident of Canada who plans on pursuing long-term employment in Canada
