2019 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize
Professor of Mathematics and a Distinguished University Scholar at the University of British Columbia, Nassif Ghoussoub wins prestigious CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize

The Fields Institute commends Nassif Ghoussoub, winner of the 2019 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize. Professor Ghoussoub is a world-renowned mathematician working in the fields of non-linear analysis and partial differential equations. He is a Professor of Mathematics and a Distinguished University Scholar at the University of British Columbia. A longtime advocate for the mathematical sciences, Professor Ghoussoub founded the Pacific Institute for Mathematical Science, the Banff International Research Station and a co-founded Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems. He is also a member of the Canadian Mathematical Society 2018 Inaugural Class of Fellows.

The CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize recognizes exceptional achievement in the mathematical sciences. It was established by the Centre de recherches mathématiques and the Fields Institute as the CRM-Fields prize in 1994. In 2005, PIMS became an equal partner.
