The format of this summer school will be similar to the Durham symposia. The school will be centred around six short courses, each of four lectures. The six main speakers are:

(Note: There will be a year of activity in probability at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI, Berkeley, California) in the academic year 1997-1998.)
