We anticipate there will be a limited number of NSF-funded scholarships. The NSF Scholarships would be used to support the travel, registration, and housing of US students to NASIT. Students must demonstrate financial need in order to quality. Scholarships, if awarded, will cover registration fees, local accommodations, and up to $550 for travel.

Students who wish to apply should email the following information to Patrick Mitran (pmitran<at>uwaterloo.ca) and include "NASIT NSF Scholarship Application" in the title of the email as well as the following in the body:

a) Name and Title (i.e. Mr. Ms. Dr. etc.)
b) Email address
c) Affiliation/University and Status (graduate /undergraduate, Post-Doc, etc)
d) Name of supervisor
e) Submitted title of poster and abstract
f) If applicable state "I am a first-time NASIT attendee" in the email body.
g) In the body of the email, state that "I am applying for a student financial scholarship", and "I am eligible because I come from an American University"
h) Include a short, 1/2 to 3/4 page, explanation describing your reasons for wanting to attend and your financial need.
i) Attach a letter from your supervisor asserting that they have limited funds for your travel, that this event would benefit you, and that you would not be able to attend without the Scholarship.
