Fields Institute Elliott Distinguished Visitorship
The Fields Institute Elliott Distinguished Visitorship (Fields Institute EDV) provides an opportunity for a period of full-time research in residence at the Fields Institute.
Faculty/research scientists at Fields Principal Sponsoring Universities are invited to apply (e.g. for a period during a research leave from their own university), or to nominate a mathematical scientist for the purpose of collaborative research.
Fields Institute EDV holders will be provided with office space, access to Fields facilities and activities, and reimbursement of expenses (travel, accommodation, and per diem) up to $5,000 for each month of full-time residence. The minimum length of residence is one (1) month and the maximum is three (3) months. Faculty/scientists living in the GTA are ineligible to apply for the Fields Institute EDV, but may nominate candidates from elsewhere for the visitorship.
Selection of successful candidates will be made by the Directors of the Institute, in consultation with the Scientific Advisory Panel.
There are no restrictions on the nationality of the candidates. The Fields Institute encourages applications from women and under-represented groups.
This visitorship is possible with the support of Professor George A. Elliott, a long-time member of the Fields Institute.
