The goal of this workshop is to foster collaboration between experts in the domains of Lie theory, quantized enveloping algebras, and algebraic combinatorics.
Mini-courses and Research Talks
The workshop will feature three mini-courses on background and exciting new developments in its focus areas, that are targeted at graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior researchers.
Mini-course I: Quantum Symmetric Pairs: What they are, where they come from, and how they produce q-special functions. Lecturer: Gail Letzter (Math Research Group, National Security Agency) Mini-course II: Lie superalgebras and interpolation tensor categories Lecturer: Vera Serganova (University of California, Berkeley) Mini-course III: Introduction to the theory of N-point spherical functions. Lecturer: Jasper Stokman (University of Amsterdam)In addition, the activity will include several research talks that will be interspersed among the mini-course lectures.

We have been awarded funding from the Fields Institute and the National Science Foundation. In the distribution of funding, priority will be given to students, postdoctoral fellows, early career researchers, under-represented groups, and participants with no other source of funding.
